Alexandra Porter | Artistic Director, Founder
ALEXANDRA PORTER, soprano, is a dedicated performer, programmer, and supporter of contemporary music. This year includes performances as Sally in the world premiere of The Analysing Engine (Andrew Lovett) at Princeton University, various concerts with Contemporary Undercurrent of Song Project, and a presentation of the music of Doug Ovens on the Muhlenberg College New Music Festival. In the 2016-17 season, she performed regularly with The Crossing, a contemporary chamber choir, and is a featured soloist on their recording of John Luther Adams’ Canticles of the Holy Wind. In addition, she began commissioning new music for her chamber ensemble Poor Puppet with soprano Amy Petrongelli and oboist Zach Pulse. Since 2012, she has devoted her summers to the study and performance of new chamber music at New Music on the Point (2012-15), the Cortona Sessions for New Music in Italy (2014-18), and the Nief-Norf Summer Festival (2016-18). This summer, she returns to the Cortona Sessions and Nief-Norf as both administrator and performer and holds fellowships at Weekend of Chamber Music and (R)evolution: Resonant Bodies at Banff. From 2015-18, she was an artistic administrator for the Resonant Bodies Festival (NYC), a three-day festival showcasing contemporary music by nine unique vocalists. In 2015, she founded Contemporary Undercurrent of Song Project to bring contemporary vocal music to the Princeton community. A passionate educator, Ms. Porter teaches private lessons at Muhlenberg College. She is an alumna of The Pennsylvania State University and Westminster Choir College.

Cory Klose | Media & Design
New Jersey native CORY KLOSE is an avid performer of both choral and solo repertoire. He is on the roster of many professional ensembles including Grammy Award-winning Conspirare, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Skylark Ensemble, Bach Collegium San Diego, The Crossing, Apollo Master Chorale, Tucson Chamber Artists, and Kinnara Ensemble. Cory has also recorded with Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble on the Grammy Award-winning record, “Songs of Ascension.” Highlights of Cory’s solo performances include Bach’s Magnificat, Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass in C, Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs, Handel’s Messiah and Saul, and Faure’s Requiem. Cory received his B.Mus. in Voice Performance from Montclair State University. |
